Coccinella is the Italian word for “Lady Bug” and us Turks, call it “Ugur Bocegi” which means “Bug of Luck” and when I asked Saadet Kavak why Coccinella her answer was simple. “We liked the sound of the word”.

Well sounds real nice but the moment you step inside the store, the sight of all the cakes, cookies, boreks, chocolates, croissants and the salted sticks capture you. They have more then 30 sweet and 30 salted products. All prepared by the well known Nurullah Usta of Ankara.

Stepping inside Cocinella is like stepping into a fairy land. You can see the cute Lady Bugs everywhere… there are cakes of lady bug with chocolate and crocant inside, on the napkins, on plates it’s like a small world of lady bugs. Apart from all the delicious bakery product they also serve lunch.

While, the third branch of Coccinella opened at Ahmet Mithat Efendi Sok. In Cankaya. The first one was opened in 2007 May and it is run by Pinar Sen. They opened a second branch in Beysukent in 2007 November and it is run by Aynur Kavak.

Opening of the new branch started at noon time and almost all Ankarans from all walks of life and different ages dropped by until very late hours of the day.

So Ankara is lucky to have such a unique and mouth watering place.
