Independence Day celebrated in a festive way by Jordanian community

On the occasion of the “10^th Anniversary of the King Abdullah II. Ibn Al Hussein’s assumption of Constitutional Powers and the Independence Day of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Ambassador Faris Mufti and his elegant wife Lana, hosted one the first outdoor receptions of the season at their residence.

There were also some surprise guests at the event and among them was New Zealand Ambassador Andrea Smith who is the most recent member of the Ankara Diplomatic Corps.

Another guest was Late Ambassador Kura's wife, Lale Kura, who knew Ambassador Mufti when he used to be in Turkey as a young boy, while his father was serving as Ambassador in Turkey.

The occasion crowded by almost all heads of missions, deputies, defense attachés and businessmen along with a big number of Jordanian military students in Ankara, started as usual in a formal way with Jordanian music playing at background softly. However as the night proceeded, the volume of the music raised slowly and many guests started to enjoy the event by dancing to traditional Jordanian songs. Among them were Ferda Paksüt and the hostess Lana Mufti who joined the festive atmosphere of the event.

The famous “falafel” and “chevirme” along with many other traditional dishes and desserts were widely appreciated by guests.
