Algerian National Day celebrated with broken heart

On the occasion of the National Day, the Ambassador of Algeria Smail Allaoua and his wife Assia hosted a reception at Ankara Swissotel.

Unfortunately, as the event was also to say goodbye, it was hard for many of the Ambassadorial couple’s counterparts and their friends who crowded the Anatolia Ballroom of the hotel. The Allaoua couple, were one of the most popular couples of the diplomatic corps so it really was a heartbreaking event for many.

While the government was represented by Chief Advisor in Charge of Middle East Affairs of President Gul, Erşat Hürmüzlü, Deputy Undersecretary of Foreign Ministry Ünal Çeviköz, many ambassadors from the Foreign Ministry, almost all heads of missions, many deputy head of missions, AMAC members and many members of the Turkish community were present. The surprise guest of the event was Emrullah Akcakaya the new General Manager of the hotel.
