Dean of Diplomatic Corps Hosts Farewell Reception

The Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman and the Dean of Diplomatic Corps, Mohammed Nasser Al-Wohaibi, hosted a reception to bid farewell to his counterparts and his friends at Ankara Swissotel.

After serving in Ankara more than twelve years, to leave a country and its people is not easy, as could be seen in Ambassador Al-Wohaibi’s eyes. Vice versa it’s hard for his fiends who shared many things during his stay in this country.  Ambassador Al-Whaibi will be serving in Doha, Qatar as Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman.

After Ambassador Al-Wohaibi’s departure, the new Dean of the Diplomatic Corps will be the Italian Ambassador Carlo Marsili but as he was out of town, it was Jordanian Ambassador Faris Mufti’s turn to deliver a farewell speech for the outgoing Dean, who, for many years hosted the same event for those who were leaving Ankara. After the Dean's speech on behalf of all heads of missions in Ankara, Ambassador Mufti handed the traditional silver tray to Ambassador Al-Wohaibi.

Among the guests apart from many heads of missions and deputy heads of missions, the Government was represented by Chief Advisor in Charge of Middle East Affairs of President Gul, Ersat Hurmuzlu and the surprise guest of the event was Turkish Ambassador to Budapest Oya Tuzcuoglu.
