Dean bids farewell to Cuban & Danish Ambassadors

The Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman, Mohammed Nasser Al Wohaibi hosted a reception to bid farewell to two ambassadors who will soon be leaving Ankara, the Ambassador of Cuba, Ernesto Gomez Abascal and Ambassador of Denmark, Jesper Vahr.

Dean Al Wohaibi made a farewell speech and at his speech for Ambassador Abascal, he emphasized that as he served as Ambassador of Cuba in Syria, Jordan and Iraq, the Cuban Ambassador was not a stranger to the area.    And, as for Ambassador Vahr who only served in Turkey since October 2007 and who had also served in Syria, is more specialized in NATO affairs.     “While there is no doubt that this is no far from the region particularly where Turkey is an important member of the said Treaty,” Al Wohaibi said.

Ambassador Al Wohaibi then presented the traditional silver trays to both Ambassadors on behalf of all members of the diplomatic corps and wished them luck in their new postings.

While Ambassador Abascal is returning to Cuba, Ambassador Vahr will be heading for Brussels for his new post as private assistant to NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen
