Vahur`s Fare Thee Well Reception

Ambassador of Estonia Mr. Aivo Orav and his wife Mare hosted a farewell reception for the Counsellor of the Embassy Vahur Luhtsalu at their residence.

After the three sweaty, but delightful and joyful years in Ankara, Vahur’s friends and members of the Estonian Embassy got together to remember the good old days and to share with each other what future might hold for them.

Vahur Lahtsalu decided to terminate his career as a diplomat and after his trip to Agrı to climb the Mt. Ararat with the Estonian delegation to mark the 180^th anniversary of the conquest of Mt. Ararat, he will settle in Istanbul doing his own business.  Johann Jakob Friedrich Wilhelm Parrot (1792–1841), Estonian scientist and traveller, had reached the top of Mt. Ararat for the first time exactly 180 years ago.
