Independence Day of the USA

USA celebrated 233rd Independence Day

To celebrate the two hundred thirth-third anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America James F. Jeffrey and his wife Gudrun hosted their first national day reception a at their beautiful residence garden.

Five ministers including Deputy Prime Minister Cemil Cicek, State Minister for EU Relations Egemen Bagis, Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul, Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim and Agriculture Minister Mehdi Eker were among more than five hundred guests.

Almost all head of missions headed by the Dean Ambassador Mohammed Al-Wohaibi were present along with their deputies and defense attaches. A surprise guest of the event was Syrian ambassador’s wife Wafa Kabalan who attended her first social event with her spouse Ambassador Nidal: Although Ambassador Nidal arrived in Ankara in mid May she has recently joined her husband with their three children. During the night Ambassador of Yemen Noria Al-Hamami looked a little sad as her visitors (sister in law Karen and her two beautiful nephews Iman and Dina) had just returned to USA.

While guests enjoyed the event at a beautiful Ankara night along with a great jazz band, I personally enjoyed the Dole Fruits and red Leona wine by Kayra wineries.
