Ambassador Kunz: At home in Turkey

Ambassador of Switzerland Raimund Kunz hosted his first National Day Reception at his beautiful residence garden under the great Anatolian sky.

After the guests gathered, Ambassador Kunz made a brief welcoming speech in which he emphasized long time Turkish – Swiss relations and ended up his speech by quoting Federal President Hans-Rudolf Merz at his national holiday-address in which he said for Swiss citizens living abroad:

At home in the world. “For us here this means. At home in Turkey”, Ambassador Kunz said.

Government was represented by Justice Minister Sadullah Ergin, Presidency was represented by PM’s Foreign Affairs Chief Advisor Huseyin Dirioz.  While Ministry of Foreign Affairs was represented by Deputy Undersecretaries and Foreign Ministry members, Diplomatic Corps headed by Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman Mohammed Nasser Al-Wohaibi many head of missions, Charge d’Affaires and members of AMAC were present.

Also Swiss community and Embassy's Turkish friends were among the guests who enjoyed live music along with “Raclette” and “Rösti” prepared by Hilton Hotel until late hours of the night.
