East Technical University
The
Middle East Technical University has a museum composed of archaeological
and ethnological pieces. The Museum was first founded with the intention
of exhibiting pieces excavated on the University Campus and also Turkish
handicrafts which are gradually disappearing. The University has, later,
conducted excavations at the Necropolis of Phrygians in Ankara-The
outcome of these excavation have enriched the museum -In general sense
the museums, are units which assist in the preservation and the
exhibition of pieces of art and history. Since the University is an
institution of science and education the museum aims also provide the
public and the students with more information and to contribute to
science. |
